Writer
Stop me if you’ve heard this one: I moved to New York to become the next Carrie Bradshaw. Back in the heady days of the 2010s, I got a job as a party reporter for an art magazine, pivoted to video, worked for several publications that eventually garnered national exposés (AMA!), and was even part of one of the first women’s media unions. When media became a less-than-viable career path, and I realized my strength had always been more as a writer and less as a reporter (fun as it was to shove my beat-up iPhone 8 in the faces of New York’s rich and famous for a quote), I pivoted once again to brand writing and editorial strategy.
These days, you might call me the premiere luxury resale copywriter: I started my career at Tradesy, helped develop the messaging strategy for its merger with Vestiaire Collective, and now act as the (figurative and sometimes literal) voice of The RealReal. On a good day, I write copy that’s smart and relatable and craft brand narratives that are emotionally resonant. On a bad day, well, I still write copy.
Editor
An editor of mine once told me to ask myself if I’m changing something just to change it or if I’m actually making it better, and that’s always in my mind when I’m editing the work of my colleagues. From editing both daily content and longform features from a team of 5+ writers at Refinery29 to leading The RealReal’s small but mighty copy team, my approach is empathetic, strategic, and solution-oriented.
Idea Generator
One thing about me? I love a brainstorm. But some of my best ideas have also been 2 am breakthroughs documented on my notes app. However they come to me, those big ideas and duh-inducing solutions are the biggest reason I love my job.
Human
I live with my husband in Ridgewood, Queens and in my free time, I like to see live music, try new restaurants, read good books, and visit galleries and art museums.
